Conditioning for Success


Success starts with your mindset, but most people never realise it or harness its power. Most people don’t take the time to condition themselves to achieve what they want on a daily basis, yet it’s been proven for years and years that our thoughts create our reality.

Here are 5 things you can start doing on a daily basis to help you condition yourself for success. If you do these things regularly, they will become habits.

  1. Pay attention to your thoughts

    Creating awareness around your thoughts is the first step to building new habits. If you want to build a positive mindset, you need to make good decisions and the fact is, you make your decisions based on your thoughts.

    ACTIVITY! For one day, set a reminder on your phone for every hour that you are at work, and quickly write down what you are thinking and feeling over the last hour.
    This will help you get more in tune with your thoughts. 

    Did you notice that when you were really productive, your thoughts were more empowering, confident and positive? Your unproductive moments were probably tainted with negative thoughts which encouraged you to put things off and avoid doing things.

  2. Change your thoughts

    Once you are aware of your thoughts, you can change them.

    Being willing to change is a massive step towards conditioning yourself for success. When you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, stop yourself and be willing to see things differently, be willing to change your perspective, be willing to investigate why you are feeling the way that you are so you can move forward. 

    ACTIVITY! Create a collection of feel-good quotes or affirmations that you can say to yourself when you are feeling negative. 

  3. Allow yourself to feel good

    When you are in the wrong frame of mind, you can change your state. The quickest way is to change your posture. When we are feeling low, overwhelmed or out of control – we hunch over and keep our heads low. The reverse is true when we are positive, we then stand straight with our head held high. So changing your posture psychologically tells your brain that you are feeling good.

    Another way to help you feel good is to focus your energy and thoughts on what you are grateful for. Too often we focus on what is not going to plan instead of what is working for us. So start to think about what you are grateful for throughout the day.

  4. Feeding your mind

    It is also really important to reading and learning. Reading books, listening to podcasts, watching videos are all constant yet powerful reminders that a successful mindset is powerful.

    Music is also a powerful way to condition your thoughts. Create a playlist of songs to help condition yourself for success.

  5. Experience what you want

    Use the power of your imagination to experience achieving what you want right now.

    Doing this daily will help you to connect, align and get intentional about what you want. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to experience? Get clear about what you want every single day. 

    ACTIVITY! Try these techniques for 5 days and see if they change your attitude, your work life and your personal life.
