The long-awaited news is finally here.
2023 appears to be an exciting year for Odoo users in Australia.
The setting up of the Odoo Australian office in Gold Coast, organising the Odoo roadshows, and planned tradeshow participation were followed by the announcement of two major moves in early March.
The first is the introduction of Odoo’s new pricing policy in Australian Dollars (AUD), and the second is the addition of a new hosting location in Oceania (Sydney) for Odoo.sh users.
While the introduction to the pricing policy in AUD was an initiative to increase accessibility to Odoo’s services, the latter aims at improving performance for its users in Australia.
Both initiatives, however, come as a part of Odoo’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the Australian Market.
So, How Does the New Australian Price List Work?
All new Australian customers will now settle their payments directly in AUD, while existing customers will also gradually be moved manually to the new pricing list, with priority given to customers with upcoming renewals.
Where Can You View the Localised Price List?
Unfortunately, Odoo has no way to publish the pricing in AUD on their official Odoo.com pricing page and will continue to carry the prices in USD.
However, customers can contact their Odoo sales representative or implementation partner to get a customised quotation which will be in AUD.

In an attempt to further improve overall performance for Odoo customers in the Oceania region and the Middle East & Southern Asia regions, Odoo has added two new hosting locations for Odoo.sh users to enjoy.
Customers located in Australia. New Zealand, Melanesia, Polynesia, and Micronesia stand to benefit from the Oceania hosting location, with up to 90% reduction in latency.
So, How Do Customers Choose the New Hosting Locations?
The good news is, the locations are already available for customers on the website and can be selected when creating a new project.
Overall, the new initiatives, including the introduction of the AUD pricelist, new hosting locations and other initiatives are part of Odoo’s effort to improve its services and expand its presence in the Australian market.
The said initiatives are expected to make it easier for Australian customers and business partners to access Odoo’s services, while also improving performance and reducing latency to provide an overall enhanced Odoo experience.
